Based in Victoria BC, Dion is a photographer with rigorous quality standards and a cheerful work ethic. With a university science degree and over 20 years shooting a diversity of subject matter, he has accumulated an extensive portfolio. With expertise in writing, editing, and publishing, he brings a range of marketing perspectives to Perfect Portfolio.
Dion has done photography and design work for government science programs, interior design studios, and a wide variety of other clients. He explores journalistic storytelling, architecture & interior design, abandonment, science & nature, high-magnification macro, landscapes, and industry.
With a fascination for high-resolution and special lenses, Dion has collected some of the rarest lenses in the world, in a quest for high-quality unique images. He shoots digital formats and large format 4x5 film, including high-resolution panoramic images, focus-stacking, high dynamic range (HDR), and tilt-shift perspective control for architecture and real estate.
Dion also delves into fine-art photography projects, and in 2015 he independently published his first fine-art photo book, Prairie Sunset: A Story of Change, about the vanishing way of life of the rural prairies. The fine-art photo book had sales of over 8000 copies in over 200 stores, a bestseller in Canada.
